Experience
I am a National Honor Society graduate of Mamaroneck High School. I went on to earn my bachelor's degree in Publishing, Writing, and Literature (concentration in fiction writing and analysis), minoring in Marketing Communications from Emerson College. While attending both schools, I tutored individuals in story analysis and composition, English mechanics, essay structure, analytical writing, and reading comprehension. My tutoring experience has been mostly helping high school students and freshmen and sophomore college students. Literary analysis is the subject I enjoy tutoring the most. I find it fascinating to talk about stories and assist the student in finding literary elements and themes. In addition, my passion is to help the student understand stories within the historical context in which they were written. My style of tutoring starts with understanding. I take the time to understand the passions, abilities, and struggles of the students, so I am able to better help them do the best they can. My tutoring style also involves a team setting of problem-solving and open communication. I believe in building up the confidence of each individual and bolstering academic autonomy. In my spare time, I really like to draw, bake, and knit. And I have an obsession for graphic novels, comics, and Netflix. I really enjoy talking about art and how you can share the power of communication through it.
