I recently graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and English. While in college, I wrote for the college newspaper and also took part in an afternoon program for at-risk teenagers. For two years since graduating, I've been teaching children with language-based learning disabilities at the Windward School. Although my education and experience have been focused on English, I also love to teach science and mathematics. My tutoring style is to motivate my students to achieve using their individual goals. I'm very patient with my students. Subjects I am available to tutor include literature, writing, grammar and mechanics, essay editing, social studies, and American history. I can also help students prepare for the math and verbal portions of standardized tests such as the SAT and the GRE, and I enjoy helping students prepare their college admission essays.When I am not working, I enjoy working out, watching movies, traveling, and exploring all types of cuisine!
