I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor's in Biology and minor in Computer Science. I an upcoming applicant for medical school. In school, I had a peer tutoring job and absolutely loved it. I also worked in various online tutoring jobs with students who came seeking my expertise. I have over 200+ hours of tutoring experience. My students would come confused, lacking confidence, and stressed. They would leave with a better understanding of a complex subject, more confident, and with tips for better study habits. I absolutely loved getting to see that kind of progress.. I explained complicated science in simple terms. I tutor students in the sciences and math because my pre-medical track helped me strengthen my knowledge in these courses. Alongside my tutoring job, I worked in the multiple science laboratories(biology and chemistry) and won many conference awards from my research in developmental biology and genetics. I have published journal articles for those conferences. When I tutor a new student for the first time, I try to figure out how they learn best. When I know what strategy works best for the student, I tutor according to that need. For example, if they learn best by moving around, I help them associate ideas with different body movements. If pictures are better, I draw pictures. Then I teach the student how to use their own personality to study independently. In this way I try to work myself out of a job, but I'm willing to help anytime somebody gets stuck. Regarding the subjects I tutor, I'm best at biology. I'm persistent, patient, resourceful, and practical-minded. I'm zealous and overall cheerful. I make sure all of my students understand the material in its entirety. As a tutor, I understand the troubles that a student faces when learning a new concept in class. It takes the right tutor to help guide them to solving problems on their own. My goal is for my students to take away as much as possible from the lesson and use those skills in their future endeavors.
